“Creative writing is any form of writing which is written with the creativity of mind: fiction writing, poetry writing, creative nonfiction writing and more. The purpose is to express something, whether it be feelings, thoughts, or emotions.”

Let’s get together for some creative writing after work!

It takes place at Selva, R. Luís de Camões 112 A, 1300-361 Lisboa.

The event will work as follows:

- A word prompt will be chosen at random

- Each person will have 25 minutes to write something inspired by the word. This can be a short story, a commentary, a poem, whatever comes to mind.

- After the time is up, each person will read out what they have written

- People can give each other feedback on what they’ve written

The main goal of the session is to get some writing practice in an informal atmosphere. Some tips and guidance will be provided but it’s mostly up to each person to create in their own style. The use of the time limit helps force participants to not spend too long on any creative decisions. You’ll be surprised what you can come up with under a little bit of pressure!

Please bring something to write with, either pen and paper or a laptop.

“Creative afterwork” was founded to bring creative people together in Lisbon on a weekly basis to share techniques and ideas through fun varied exercises. Every session will feature a different activity such as painting, sketching, creative writing, handicraft, origami, stop-motion-animation etc. The goal is that each person can create something in each session they can take away at the end.

Events are donation based, participants can choose to give based on what they feel they got out of the session. These funds are used to pay meetup fees and buy materials for future sessions.
